I know it’s been a long time since we updated the blog! We had a wonderful time over Christmas and New Years in Costa Rica.  We had a couple of days in Playa Ocotal, and spent my birthday hanging out at the beach and by the pool at the beach club.
                                                     Our wonderful hosts The Corrells.
They have a gorgeous development down there, Cocos Bay Estates www.cocobayestates.com and treated us like royalty.  With their partners Julian and Karen Rembert they have got the best of everything!
We then left and drove to the Arenal Volcano and stayed in a beautiful resort and spa Tabacon.  http://www.tabacon.com/

Mike and I were amazed at the grounds of the hotel and the Thermal spas!!

the thermal springs at Tabacon

the boys in the hot springs
Wow! Way to nice for the likes of a couple of Slackers

We did a hanging bridges tour one day,

looking from the highest bridge to the one below

We saw monkeys
 and coatimundis
 and a talking deer?!?

and lounged around in the thermal waters of Tabacon.

We then drove to one of the most unique hotels we have ever been to.  Gingerbread
http://www.gingerbreadarenal.com/  Our host Eyal is a force to be reckoned with, He is an incredible chef and entertainer

and the Gingerbread rooms show his eclectic taste.

If you are ever in the area of Nuevo Arenal you have to stay at Gingerbread, just don't be late for dinner!!

8 am swim in Ocotal

We then came back to lovely Ocotal where we enjoyed 8am swims in the bay, Jim and Julian’s pig roast, and Father Roosters Restaurant on the beach. All the good food and partying was tough on the waist lines, but we survived!
We are back on the boat and trying to finish up our projects before we end our season.
We will keep you posted!
